In the performance of the day, Momentum Proteas top-order batter Tazmin Brits scored an explosive hundred in the Senwes Dragons Women’s emphatic victory over Easterns on day two of the CSA Women’s Provincial One-Day tournament in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Brits smashed a 76-ball 106 as the Dragons put on a mammoth 322/8 in their 50 overs at St Stithians College, with Masabata Klaas also showcasing her batting prowess with 76 off 54 balls.

The team based in Potchefstroom then made light work of the defence of their score, restricting their opponents to just 89/9 after 33.3 overs to seal the statement 236-run victory.

Titans Women recorded their second win of the competition when Momentum Proteas all-rounder Suné Luus hit 90 runs off 102 deliveries to inspire her side to 184/8 before they successfully defended their total, with the Imperial Lions only managing 161 all out, to win by 23 runs.

In the other game, the Six Gun Grill Western Province Women picked up their maiden win of the week after an opening round loss, by overcoming the Kwa-Zulu Natal Coastal Women by 42 runs thanks largely to an outstanding innings by Lara Goodall (80) and four wickets from Robyn Appels (4/63).

Day three of the CSA Women’s Provincial One-Day competition takes place on Monday, 25 October from 10h00 with the action live-streamed on Pitch Vision.

All teams will play each other once over the five days at St Stithians College.
