UCI Women’s champions team of Candice Lill and Kate Courtney complete a clean sweep of stage victories to win the Momentum Medical Scheme Tankwa Trek 2025, presented by Biogen, by more than 40 minutes, at the Malabar Farm in Koue Bokkeveld, near Ceres in the Western Cape, on Sunday, 9 February, 2025.
The Lill and Courtney victory followed their clinching all four stages, as well as the Queen of the Mountain hotspot prize, to complete an emphatic clean sweep of the available honours.
Candice Lill, one half of the 2025 champion team as well as the 2024 defending champions duo – cycling then with Mona Mitterwallner, has now lifted the UCI Women’s trophy on five occasions, with four different teammates.

Team She Sends’ Lill and Courtney managed to hold the lead and complete a clean sweep of stage victories over a total of 273km and 5,460m ascent in four days of mountain biking in the rugged Koue Bokkeveld, including a winning margin of 6 minutes and 5 seconds on the 57-kilometre-long final stage, to earn the Queen’s crowns to mark the cycling event’s twelfth annual staging.
“Today was another good day! We pushed hard and I really enjoyed the riding. Racing alongside Candice [Lill] has been great. She kept me honest and ensured that we were always pushing.”

“It has been so much fun coming from the training camp with Greta [Seiwald], Martina [Berta], Tyler [Jacobs] and Sara [Cortinovis] to the race.”
“The riding has been tough, as always, but it was superbly organised and as a Biogen athlete it was great to represent a co-sponsor here,” said Lill. “They, along with Dryland and Momentum, really look after everyone so well.”

Courtney and Lill’s winning margin on the final stage was 6 minutes and 5 seconds, which took their overall winning margin to 40 minutes and 37 seconds.
Spaghetti M&G’s Greta Seiwald and Martina Berta overcame two puncture disrupted days to secure silver behind the dominant champions.
The young Ghost-Liv Racing combination, Tyler Jacobs and Sara Cortinovis, were third on the day and overall, with Efficient Infiniti’s Sarah Hill and Vera Looser were fourth, and team Kolisi/Songo Foundation’s Ila Stow and Cherise Willeit managing to edge Safari Essence Titan Racing’s Bianca Haw & Danielle Strydom for the fifth place finish in the final General Classification.
