Cara Hendricks Living Her American Dream

by | Jun 20, 2021

Former TuksSport athlete, Cara Hendricks, is looking forward to achieving her international football dream, recently scoring a sought-after scholarship to study at Tennessee Wesleyan University through the Aspire Atlantic Scholarship in the United States.

Speaking to gsport, Hendricks said: “Honestly, I’m really excited for the signing. I’m a bit scared but also full of energy for what’s ahead of me.”

The 18-year-old midfielder continues to share her thoughts on the current state of women’s football.

“The current state of football in soccer is good but they don’t give us much opportunity to play. We need more football development programs to evolve women’s football more.”

The Gelvandale-born aims to play her part in developing the sport as well as fly the South African flag high in the States.

“My goal is to make the All-American squad and play professional after my years of studying, as well as to give back to the teams that developed me as a player,” she concluded.
