Abrahams will lead gsport’s coverage from the highly anticipated Netball World Cup in Cape Town, scheduled from 28th July to 6th August.

Having started the year covering the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and following the #ProteasWomen campaign from the opening game until the thrilling final at Newlands, Abrahams’ passion for women’s sport and dedication to promoting gender equality is evident in her relentless efforts to #CloseTheVisibilityGap.

The Year of Women’s Sport and #WorldCup Wednesday campaign, launched on 7th December 2022 by gsport, aims to showcase South Africa as a top sporting destination in 2023, hosting leading world events that put women’s sport on the map. With the Netball World Cup being the first-ever hosted on African soil, Abrahams is ready to play a pivotal role in elevating women’s sport and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

“I am looking forward to being front and centre at the Netball World Cup in Cape Town, providing the gsport community with both on and off the court action in what is going to be an exhilarating global showpiece. This gives us as the gsport Team another opportunity to continue our journey to amplify the coverage of women’s sport to inspire women in the sport media space as well as the future of athletes in the country.”

Abrahams leads an all-women gsport Newsroom, empowering more women in 2023 than ever before. Her dedication and leadership have created opportunities for new faces to shine and prove that given the chance, women in sport will thrive.
