Momentum Proteas all-rounder Chloé Tryon has added the Women’s Premier League honours to her list of achievements, as the Mumbai Indians side claimed bragging rights on Sunday, 26 March 2023.
Sharing her gratitude on Instagram, Tryon wrote: “WPL what an incredible experience with an amazing bunch of people. Thank you the Mumbai Indians family for welcoming me into your space and being nothing short of amazing. Memories to last a lifetime, until next time #OneFamily.”
Fellow Proteas Women team-mate, Marizanne Kapp, who played for the Capitals, was the only South African to take part in the WPL final.
Other notable South African features in the tournament were Shabnim Ismail (Uttah Pradesh Warriors), Dané van Niekerk (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and Laura Wolvaardt, who replaced injured Gujarat Giant’s captain, Beth Mooney.
