Momentum Proteas captain, Dané van Niekerk, is the latest South African cricketer to sign for England’s The Hundred competition.
Van Niekerk leads the list of Oval Invincibles retentions, joining fellow countrymates Marizanne Kapp, Lizelle Lee, Chloe Tryon and Mignon du Preez, who will all be aiming to make a mark on the international stage.
The 27-year-old will be eager to get back on the playing field after missing out on the recently concluded One-Day International and Twenty20 series against Pakistan.
She shared her excitement on Instagram, saying: “Massively excited to join @ovalinvincibles for the @thehundred!!! Thank you for the opportunity!! Cannot wait!! #thehundred #ovalinvincibles it is time.”
