Momentum’s annual #SheOwnsHerSuccess campaign, now in its sixth year, is back and will continue to empower women with tools and advice to achieve financial success. It celebrates the resilience of women who, despite setbacks, continue their journey with determination.
Regardless of their backgrounds or starting points, these women turn challenges into opportunities, driving their passions and entrepreneurial pursuits with the aim of realising their full potential.
The campaign features a series of masterclasses with renowned speakers. Past speakers include New York Times bestselling author, Luvvie Ajayi Jones, Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, CEO of Girls Who Code, Reshma Saujani, and managing director of F1 Academy, Susie Wolff.
This year, we are honoured to welcome back Susie Wolff as a keynote speaker who will be joining the event in-person for the first time. As a former professional racing driver and current managing director of the all-female F1 Academy, Wolff is advancing women’s participation in the male-dominated world of F1.
Following her retirement from driving in 2015, Susie launched Dare To Be Different in 2016, a call to action aimed at inspiring the next generation and increasing female participation in all levels and aspects of motorsport. Dare To Be Different emphasises that diversity is defined not by gender but by passion and character.
Marketing Manager Thandi Smith said she is excited to welcome back the impactful campaign under the theme My Success By Design. “By embracing this expression of, “My Success By Design,” we aim to emphasise the importance of women taking control of their lives, pursuing their passions, and celebrating their achievements in their unique way.”
Also making a comeback this year is the Women Who Make Moves in Sports Summit. The summit provides female athletes with tools to turn their sports stardom into viable commercial enterprises and protect their financial potential. It features a class by Harvard Business School Professor Anita Elberse, an expert in building commercially successful brands. Professor Elberse, known for her groundbreaking work on digital media, entertainment, and sports marketing, uses in-depth case studies to teach athletes and executives how to market their talents and brands effectively.
“Momentum is passionate and committed to supporting women in sports and despite the challenges they face they persevere and we are so proud to be a part of the journey where they design their success on and off the field,” said Smith.
The much anticipated workshop series will take place on August 14th and August 17th and brings together international and local expert speakers who tackle a range of issues and provide masterclasses to empower women.
In addition to Wolff, speakers will include financial coaches, therapists and high profile media personalities who will cover topics such as the cost of divorce, allyship in the workplace and the realities of hyper-independence.
