The team management of FC Laduma Ladies, previously known as Mafikeng Ladies, held an awards ceremony to congratulate the players for their outstanding performances during the 2021 Absa Regional League season.
The ceremony which took place on Saturday, 5 February 2022, was held at Montshioa Artificial Turf in Mahikeng.
Ogone Motshabi and Phemelo Motlokwa walked away with two awards each, winning the Top Goal Scorer of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year and Most Improved Player of the Year awards, respectively.
Captains of the newly promoted Sasol league side, Amogelang Ngwenya and Masego Moretlwe, received the Goalkeeper of the Year and Most Disciplined Player of the Year awards.
Head coach, Shap Mshengu, is ecstatic with the clubs first awards ceremony, saying: “Women’s football in Mahikeng is growing at a high speed and I’m very happy and honoured to see this kind of event for the first time shows growth.”
Mshengu also praised his technical team for their hard work as he’ll now get to focus on grooming the development team.
“My plea is for parents to bring in players who are young and interested in playing football”.

Most Improved Player of the Year – Phemelo Motlokwa
Goal Keeper of the Year – Amogelang Ngwenya
Most Disciplined Player of the Year – Masego Moretlwe
Most Dedicated Player – Seipati Khesa
