South Africa posted a modest 112/7 after winning the toss and batting first. Freya Davies, Georgia Hennessey and Grace Gibbs took two wickets each to restrict the hosts to the below par score. Fourie emerged the top run scorer with just 25 runs, with Nonkhululeko Thabethe following closely with 21.
The hosts were not going to allow the runs on the board to defeat them however, Fourie took a staggering five wickets for just 18 runs to make quick work of the visitors, and to secure her side’s victory.
England were bowled out for 101 runs. “It’s an amazing feeling to be able to help my side to the win,” Fourie said.
“This is an amazing opportunity for all of us to grow as cricketers, and we’re all taking each game like it’s our last.”
There is no time to rest however, the sides meet up for the last match on Monday at 14:00 at B Oval, at the North West PUKKE Sports Village.
