Foxy Does Cricket

5fm deejay Nicole Fox is set to get South Africa talking about cricket as we await the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.

Nicole, who initiated the hugely successful Fox Football 101 during last year’s FIFA Soccer World Cup, is taking on the challenge of teaching South Africans more about cricket.

Fox Cricket 101 is being launched on her show this evening at 7pm, and South Africa’s hottest female deejay can’t wait.

“The Cricket World Cup is obviously going to be a big deal and everyone is going to be completely obsessed with cricket for the next 6 weeks. If, like me, you don’t know every rule of the game, you may feel a little left out.

Picture: gsport“Well, my solution was to come up with Fox Cricket 101, which really is going to be the most ridiculously basic way of learning cricket. You know me, I’m not scared to ask stupid questions, so come along for the ride and learn more about the game.”

So, how will it work?

“Everyday we’ll ask one question about cricket and ask listeners who know something about cricket to call in with the answer. The idea is to learn more about the game so the questions can range from being ridiculously basic to super complicated.

“With Fox Cricket 101 I want to get more of my listeners involved with asking the questions so there will be a link on my DJ page at the 5fm website, where you can email in your cricket question – and we’ll get someone to give you the answer on the air.

She will also be using a couple of cricket “experts” to help out when things get sticky.

Jonty Rhodes has very kindly offered his services as expert live from the Caribbean, and you can watch out for other South African cricketing legends lending their voices to the cause.

“As we near the World Cup final we’ll run the Fox Cricket 101 exam live on air where we’ll get you to test your newly-acquired skills in a fun play-off on the air.
