South Africa’s Holly Smith and Georgia Singe claimed gold in the K2 Junior Women’s race at the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships on Friday, 1 September 2023 in Denmark. 

Smith and Singe finished the race in a time of 1:21:26.73 to grab the first place position. They were followed by Spain’s Maria Martinez and Lidia Zornoza in second place with a time of 1:21:29.80 and Hungarians Janka Reisz and Klaudia Kmetyo in third place (1:21:31.77).

In the K1 Under 23 Women’s race, Saskia Hockly finished in third-place (01:43:36.22) to grab bronze for Team South Africa. Hungarian Panna Csepe finished the race in first place with a time of 01:42:50.17 and Czech Republic Katerina Miloce in second place in 01:43:07.89.
