It has been a year that has seen women in sport show great resilience to produce game changing moments despite the impact of Coronavirus, and as the holidays get into full swing, leading women in sport share their inspiring festive messages and good wishes.
2020 gsport Ministerial winner, Tiffany Keep, is already looking forward to more great highlights from women in sport.
“Happy holidays to all the women who continue to inspire and lead the way for the future generation of female sports stars! May 2021 bring many more successes and incredible victories!”
2020 gsport Hall of Fame winner, Dudu Msane, has called on South Africans to mask up and be safe, during the holidays, as Covid-19 continues to impact communities around the country.
The seasoned netball administrator says: “This is a time for celebrating the festive season and being together with family. I wish you all women in sports a safe, joyous and wonderful holidays. For those that are travelling please drive safely. Also don’t forget to always wear your mask, wash your hands and keep a safe distance.
“We still want to see you all in the coming year. Let us end the present year on a cheerful note and make a fresh and bright new year.I wish you happiness and peace not just this Christmas but the entire year. God bless you all.”
Newzroom Afrika sports anchor, Tumi Kgasoe, remains upbeat despite a tough year and says we should be grateful to be alive: “I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Take this time to count your blessings. I think we have had a very difficult year where we saw Covid-19 hitting us at a time when we never expected it to hit us… Right now, its about that time when we are thankful that we are alive.”
Paracyclist, Toni Mould, also had a message for the women’s sport community: “Wishing everyone a healthy and safe Christmas season. May we treasure those closest to us and reflect on the true meaning of the season.
