India maintained their dominance in the Women’s Asia Cup with an eight-wicket demolition of a self-destructing Sri Lanka in the final on Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh on Saturday, 15 October 2022.
The win makes it their seventh title in eight editions as they won by 8 wickets against Sri Lanka, who were playing their first tournament final in 14 years.
India’s Deepti Sharma walked away with player of the series accolade after herself 13 wickets, while Jemimah Rodrigues scored more runs, making it 217.
The win is a shot in the arm for India’s preparations for the T20 World Cup next year to take place on home soil, South Africa.
The defending champions were the hosts, Bangladesh who defeated India in 2018 to win the title for the first time.
