Reigning Division 1 Champions Gauteng Jaguars’ Melodine Jacobs reveals the team’s readiness for this year’s instalment of the Telkom Netball League which kick starts on Wednesday, 27 April 2022.
The TNL season will be played across two provinces over eight weeks. KwaZulu-Natal will host the opening power week of the tournament from 27 April until 2 May 2022, and these matches will be played at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban.
Gauteng will then host the remaining matches of the league from 20 May to 19 June at the familiar Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, which hosted the first leg of the tournament in 2021.

Speaking ahead of the competition, Jacobs reflected on their performance in the previous campaign, saying: “What worked for us as a team last year is sticking to the game-plan. There were times when we couldn’t execute the game-plan, so we went back, we worked on it and made sure we came out…perfect.”
Looking forward to this campaign, Jacobs is excited to play alongside the new recruits.
“We obviously have different players in our team that we’ve never played with – I’ve never played with any of the Proteas, so I’m looking forward to playing with them, gelling with them, and getting a connection.
Where will the Jaguars be dangerous this season? Jacobs says: “I think full out on court, I can’t specifically say defense or attack, we are all dangerous together as a team,” she concluded.
