South African golf star, Kaiyuree Moodley, is aiming to remain on top of her game after claiming top honours at the Bryan National Collegiate in North Carolina.

The 20-year-old carded rounds of 68, 70, and 71 to end off just one stroke away from tying a 54-hole in her seven-under, 209 performance.

“I’m hoping to keep this confidence. There are places to improve on, you never have a perfect round,” revealed Moodley.

“It’s unbelievable. I never thought this day would come so soon, only playing my third event for Charlotte.” South African golf star, Kaiyuree Moodley

“It’s been a long process to get here. The events we had leading up to this really built my confidence and I’m really happy about it. This course really suited my eye, especially with shots I wanted to play.”

Moodley came last in the Sam Golden Invitational before turning champion on Tuesday, 28 September 2021.

Charlotte Women’s head coach, Ryan Ashburn, says that they had spoken about what she could do to improve her technique moving into the next event and that she was overjoyed with the result.

“I couldn’t be happier for Kai. She has been working towards this every day and for her to win this week means the world. She is a fierce competitor and I think this is just the beginning for Kai.”

The Niners will travel to Virginia Coast for their fourth week of action with aims to maintain momentum in Evie Odom this weekend.
