Team South Africa’s Lara van Niekerk and Tatjana Schoenmaker claimed gold and silver, respectively in the 100m breaststroke final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Tuesday, 2 August 2022.

Van Niekerk led from the start of the race to clock a winning time of 1:05.47, ahead of countrymate Schoenmaker in second.

Kaylene Corbett, who won bronze in the 200m breaststroke final, finished in seventh place in the 100m breaststroke event.
