Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC’s status as the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League’s champions-elect is on the brink of moving from potential to arrival, as the battle for the silver medal intensifies following last week’s fixtures that concluded on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
On Wednesday, 19 November, the Brazilians face City Lads at home, and the three points on offer will place the crown firmly on the heads of this champion team, ahead of the season’s scheduled conclusion on Sunday, 7 December.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC showcased their champion pedigree by dispatching their opponents in the latest rounds with clinical efficiency to take maximum points. And, with their rivals unable to surpass that tally, Sundowns now only require a single win or a maximum of four points from their final games to clinch the league trophy. Their relentless form, coupled with an astonishing +70 goal difference, ensures the Yellow Train Ladies will coast to yet another title.
With Banyana Ba Style’s indomitable position, the league’s focus has shifted from the title race to the contest for the silver medal between TS Galaxy Queens and JVW FC, where the true fireworks remain in the runners-up contest. JVW FC delivered a perfect performance, securing six crucial points from two fixtures to leapfrog TS Galaxy Queens into second place.
Also on Wednesday last week, JVW ground out a hard-fought 1-0 win against the University of the Western Cape, sealed by a Bonolo Mokoma penalty in the 39th minute. They followed this with another solid away performance, beating City Lads FC 2-0 on Saturday, with Mokoma scoring again alongside a second-half strike from Julia Goncalves.
JVW now sit on 66 points from 29 games. TS Galaxy Queens, who only played once, secured a difficult 1-0 home win against the University of Fort Hare FC, thanks to a late 81st-minute goal from the league’s top scorer, Leandra Smeda. This victory moves the Rockets to 63 points from 27 games.
While JVW holds the immediate second spot, the pressure is squarely on them, as they have played two more games than TS Galaxy, whose theoretical maximum of 72 points is still higher than JVW’s maximum of 69, meaning the Queens retain their destiny in their own hands if they can win their games in hand.
This tightly contested race, separated by just one Goal Difference point (+39 for TSGQ vs +38 for JVW), promises a nail-biting finish to the season.

Crucially, UFH suffered a major upset at home, losing 2-1 to Royal AM. This was a vital three points for the Durban side, who continue their desperate battle to avoid relegation.
Elsewhere, the University of Pretoria secured an impressive 2-0 derby victory against TUT Football Club, adding three points to their tally, and impacting TUT’s hopes of solidifying a place in the top half of the table.
