Limpopo Impala Lillies stamped their authority when they claimed the weekend double over Mpumalanga Rhinos Women in the CSA Women’s Professional T20 Challenge, at the Polokwane Cricket Club on Sunday, 29 October 2023.10.30
Rhinos changed tactics from the previous as they chose to field after winning the toss. Dimakatso Tsotetsi continued from where she left off with the bat for the Lillies, as she quickly and comfortably put runs on the board in a confident display with the bat.
Tsotetsi was unbeaten on 36* (56) cracking five fours around the ground, and was well supported by Khushi Mistry, who showed her prowess with the bat 31 (33) hitting four fours in her stance at the crease, as the Lillies amassed 101/6 in their 20-overs.
Cosset Machabe took 2/18 as they restricted the home side to a modest total.
Rhinos struggled against a calculated bowling attack from the Lillies. Captain of the visiting side, Jennifer Hall put on gallant effort with a contribution of 22 (28) hitting three fours, Dorothy Mathekga fought hard for her 12 (33) the only other player to reach double figures.
It was not to be for the Rhinos as they reached 88/8 at the end of their innings. Khushi Mistry once again being the pick of the Lillies bowlers with 2/8, along with Sophie Motloutsi also picking up 2/19 as the Lillies claimed a victory by 13-runs to complete their weekend double.
