The Proteas Women team were greeted by song and dance at their Welcome Party hosted by title sponsors, Momentum, at the company’s head office in Centurion on Thursday, 2 March 2023.
The venue was a hive of activity with dignitaries in the sporting fraternity, fans and media in attendance to celebrate the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup silver medallists.

Speaking at the gathering, Chief Marketing Officer at Momentum, Nontokozo Madonsela expressed her gratitude to the team, saying: “We are totally happy, so proud! We were sitting on the edge of our couches all the way through.
“On behalf of the brand team, Momentum, the executive team and the organization Momentum Metropolitan Holdings, we want to honour and celebrate you to show how proud we are. And, also to learn, especially us as women who care about advancing the success of women, there is so much growth in how you handle the game and how you handle yourselves, that we can learn from,” she concluded.
At the end of the proceedings, which included a Q&A session conducted by gsport Founder Kass Naidoo, Momentum handed over a R250 000 cheque to the team.
