Momentum Proteas Confident Ahead Of First ODI vs West Indies

by | Jan 28, 2022

The Momentum Proteas are prepped and raring to go as the South Africans take on West Indies Women in the first of four ODIs at Wanderers Stadium on Friday, 28 January 2022.

Over the past few days, the national side has been putting in the yards and participated in a warm-up match against their opponents on Wednesday, 26 January.

Looking ahead to the series, opening batswoman, Laura Wolvaardt, says the team are up for the challenge: “They have a couple of players back from the last time we played them back in September, which will be a huge addition to their side.

“Secondly, they have some big and strong fast bowlers, which will be a handful on a bouncy Wanderers track. I haven’t really played here much before, so it will be really interesting to see how the first ODI goes and what their strong bowlers can do,” she added.

“I’m definitely up for the challenge and I know our bowlers will be licking their lips to bowl on the wicket as well.”

The first ODI starts at 14h00 and will be broadcasted on SuperSport, channel 212.
