The Nigerian women’s basketball team outshone Mali to secure a spot for the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Australia.
The West African derby was competitive with Mali dominating the first quarter winning 22-20.
Nigeria rallied back from the two-point deficit to take the second quarter 22-13, as they headed into the half-time break leading 42-35.
Mali, however, took charge of the third quarter winning it 22-9.
D’ Tigress went on to fight back in the fourth quarter to earn a 73-69 victory.

Nigeria joins China, France, Serbia, Korea, USA, Australia, Japan, Belgium and debutants, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to earn qualification for the global showpiece.
