Following an exceptional year for international rugby, nominees for the sport’s ultimate accolade of players, coaches and unsung heroes were revealed on Monday, 14 November 2022.
Included in the nominees for the International Rugby Players Women’s Try of the Year award is Springbok Women’s Nomawethu Mabenge for her try against Spain.

The try was scored in a convincing 37-14 victory over Spain in the second test in Potchefstroom, back in August 2022.
The fast paced winger bounced a couple of defenders and was not stopped until she crossed the line 50 meters down the field, to help the team complete a 2-0 series whitewash over their opponents.

For the first time since the pandemic, the World Rugby Awards will take place at the prestigious Salle des Étoiles in Monaco, to celebrate the best of rugby on and off the pitch over the last calendar year on Sunday, 20 November 2022.
