In the evening session on Day 1 of the 2023 Netball World Cup, host nation South Africa got off on a positive note, with a 61-50 victory over Wales at Cape Town International Convention Centre on Friday, 28 July.
Norma Plummer’s side led from the first quarter, with Ine-Mari Venter walking away with the Most Valued Player of the match award, for her outstanding performance up front in goal.
In the other match at 18h00, Jamaica thrashed Sri Lanka 105-25.
While, the later matches at 20h00, saw Malawi beating Scotland 55-49 and England thumping Barbados 90-29.
