Day 2 of the 2023 Netball World Cup got underway on Saturday, 29 July with a decent crowd streaming into the Cape Town International Convention Centre for the morning session, which started at 09h00.
Defending champions New Zealand started the day off on a positive note, securing a 10-goal win over a resilient Ugandan side.
The match was a close and tight affair, but is was the Silver Ferns who earned the 54-44 victory.
In the other first match of the day, Zimbabwe got off to a good start against Fiji, where they led 14-12 at the end of the first quarter.
However, their lead did not last as Zimbabwe were behind in quarter 2 and 3. They tried to bounce back winning the last quarter, but left it too late as Fiji secure a 52-48 win.
In the second round of morning matches, Australia continued with their winning form beating Tonga 85-38, while Jamaica defeated Wales 75-40.
