The Professional Golfers Association of South Africa announced the appointment of Leigh-Jane Middleton as its first woman Chairperson on Wednesday, 10 August 2022.

Middleton’s appointment is a move which sees the association aim to promote gender diversity in the game and also help encourage women membership to leadership opportunities in golf.
The newly elected vice-chairperson has 18-years teaching experience and has been a board member of the PGA since 2006.
In 2020, Middleton won the Grow Golf award for her work at the Bryanston Country Club Golf Academy and the work that she has done in her role in the association’s Women in Golf taskforce, which is aimed at a greater female representation within the game.

In line with the recent celebration of National Women’s Day, Middleton was still hard at work in advocating and celebrating her fellow women in sport, wishing the nation a happy Women’s Day in the process.
