Nigeria to Host Six-Nation Women’s International T20I Invitational
Rwanda won the toss and opted to bat first scoring 129/5 in 20 overs. In the second innings, the Nigerian team struggled to put runs on the board as their wickets fell in succession to lose by 53 runs.
Rwanda’s coach, Leonard Nhamburo attributed his team’s success to hard work, preparation and planning.
“As a team we played hard, prepared and planned for this tournament well. When I joined the Rwandan team as their coach their batting was not good. Hence we had to spend a lot of time as we worked on our batting skills.
“Now several of my players can play straight drives and rotate strike.”
Rwanda has now shifted focus to the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament.
