Three-time South African Olympian and recently retired sport star, Gillian Sanders, forms part of the first ever all-female commentary team for the 2021 World Duathlon Championships on Saturday, 6 October.
Sanders is ecstatic to be part of history as the championships return after a two-year break in Aviles, Spain.
Speaking on the groundbreaking achievement, the 40-year-old says: “I’m part of an all-women commentary team with the experienced Annie Emmerson. We’ll be commentating on both the Elite Men’s & Women’s races.

“I’m really excited! It’s great to be part of this first all-women team and I’m also really looking forward to learning and taking on as much as I can from Annie who is a seasoned professional.
“She does the BBC commentary, Superleague commentary and she commentated on the Triathlon at this year’s Tokyo Olympics! Women power for the win!” she concluded.
