South Africa’s Saskia Hockly and Holly Smith completed a first and second place finish, respectively, at the ICF Ocean Racing World Championship held at Viana do Castelo, Portugal on Thursday, 06 October 2022.
Hockly successfully defended her junior race title, while Smith made it certain that the rainbow nation dominate the event.
In the Under 23 race, Kira Bester added a silver medal to the SA tally. Meanwhile, Michelle Burn and Nikki Birkett made an effort in the senior race, with Burn claiming bronze medal to complete the top three and Birkett following behind her to finish fourth.
Valma-Jean Hockly finished fifth and Meriyah Dill complated a 16th place finish in the junior race, while Jade Wilson did her absolute best in fifth position in the Under 23 race. Candice Murray finished in 11th position in the senior race.
