The South African Waveski Surfing Association (SAWSA) has announced that they have won the bid to host the 2024 World Waveski Surfing Title at Nahoon Reef in East London, South Africa.
This comes after the World Waveski Surfing Association annual general meeting took place in Venture, USA.
The 2024 World Waveski Surfing Titles is proposed to begin on 30 June 2024, but attending nations are welcomed by SAWSA to share a date period to determine the best day for the competition.
SAWSA also plans on hosting a prologue Cup, which will start two weeks before the tournament. The prologue Cup will start in Cape Town, onto Cape St Francis or Port Alfred, and end in East London for the main competition.
Entries for the 2024 World Waveski Surfing Title will open in September 2023.
East London is a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Nahoon Reef where the competition will be hosted is known for its right-hand-point-break, which is considered the best “Waveski” wave in the world.
