Tarryn Scoops 3rd Billabong Title

Tarryn Chudleigh continued her phenomenal run of success in Margate when she beat a host of the country’s top female surfers to win the open division of the Billabong “Girls Get Out There’ Surf Series event in testing one to 1.5 metre (3-5 foot) onshore surf on Tuesday.

Durban’s Bay of Plenty winner Sarah Maritz is set to defend her Surfing SA-sanctioned, 3A ASP Africa-rated Billabong Girls Get Out There Surf Series title in the second of four events under way today at Margate Beach, which produces a multiple-peak beach-break offering, ideal waves for beginners and experts alike.  

Nikita Roxy’s Open and U18 Champ

National under 18 champion Nikita Robb of East London added two more titles to her impressive tally of victories, winning both the premier Open Division final and the Under 18 final at the 2006 Roxy Wahine Cup, presented by Peugeot and Samsung, at Durban’s Suncoast Beach, Sunday 3 December.

A record entry of over 120 surfers has been received for the Roxy Wahine Cup presented by Peugeot and Samsung which starts today (December 1) and ends on Sunday (December 3) when the Roxy Wahine Cup winners will be crowned on the lawns of the Suncoast Beach in Durban.  

Champs Defend ‘Out There’ Titles

All the champions from the inaugural event in the 2006 Billabong ‘Girls Get Out There’ Surf Series will be back to defend their titles when the second all girls festival of surf is staged in the holiday paradise of Margate on Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 & 6 December.
