South African Masters surfing champion and founder of Find Your Stoke, Tasha Mentasti, held a gathering in Cape Town to create and promote participation of all women of all abilities in ocean and water activities. She hopes to see the sisterhood expand in the sport.

Top Surfers Impress in SA Women’s Pro

The top three surfers in the country Tanika Hoffman, Bianca Buitendag and Sarah Baum showed their pedigrees at the Cape Town, Jeffreys Bay and Durban editions of the Surfing South Africa Pro winning six titles between them.

Postponed Surf Series Resumes

The twice-postponed Kahuna Surf Series event for novices and future surf stars is set to run at Melkbosstrand in the Western Cape this weekend, with the event scheduled to start at 8am on Saturday, with the finals of the first event which were postponed due to extreme weather and wave conditions at Muizenberg in September. 

Storms Postpone Novice Finals

Onshore winds gusting at over 40kph combined with intermittent showers and temperatures that plummeted to 9 degrees turned the waves at Muizenberg into a swirling mass of whitewater, and forced organisers to postpone the finals of the first Kahuna Surf Series event on Sunday.

CT Series Shows Junior Talent

Cape Town and South Africa’s future surf stars posted excellent scores in the solid one-metre offshore waves at Muizenberg, as the opening day of the Kahuna Surf Series showcased the depth of junior talent available in the country.

    Capetonians were in good form on day three of the Billabong Junior Series at Big Bay in Bloubergstrand, with Durbanite and fourth seed in the Pro Junior Girls Heidi Palmboom the only visiting girl to prevent a complete whitewash by the local contingent.
