Team South Africa’s U11 girls claimed silver medal honours at the 2022 Biathle World Championships in Madeira, Portugal on Sunday, 30 October 2022.

The World Biathle Championships were held from 26 – 31 October.
Back in August, Esona Sekeleni announced that she had been selected to be part of the U11 team to represent the country on the global stage.
31 countries took part in the Championships with South Africa being crowned the overall champions, after finishing with a remarkable 26 Gold medals across the four days.

In Biathlon and Biathle, athletes are not funded nor assisted in any way whatsoever, so it was up to Sekeleni’s family and friends to raise funds for her to make her way to Portugal.
