2022 is being recognized as The Year of Unity and Renewal and Human Rights Day is being commemorated under the theme of Protecting and Preserving our Human Rights Gains.
As we remember the leaders of the Sharpeville massacre on 21 March 1960, who fought against pass laws and equality for all, it is a reminder that we need to all be in one frame of mind that South Africa belongs to all who live in it, The Constitution’s Bill of Rights guides us, and we are all united in our diversity.
At gsport, we are singling out one right from the set Bill of Rights this year – our Right to Equality!
This right states that everyone is equal and must be treated equally. No one has the right to discriminate against you based on your race, gender, sex, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language or birth among others.
We believe in pushing the agenda to create a future in sport where there is equality and today, we salute the women and men who are paving the way to ensure that women and young girls are given opportunities to lead both on and off the field.
