South African triathlete Shanae Williams earns silver medal honours in the elite women’s race at the Prosperity Health African Triathlon Cup in Swakopmund, Namibia on Saturday, 23 April 2022.
Williams led in the first transition before she was outclassed by Germany’s Annika Koch in the second transition.
Koch maintained her momentum to finish the race first in 01:04:34 followed by Williams in 01:05:04.
Netherlands’ Silke De Wolde had to be content with a third place finish, while South Africa’s Hannah Newman slotted in fourth spot.
