Woman’s football has been a trending topic over the month of July with women’s tournaments taking centre stage across the world.
From the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, CONCACAF Women’s Championship, UEFA Women’s EURO, COPA America Feminina and OFS Women’s nations cup! The month of July is truly a month of the festival of women’s football as described by FIFA.
While all the different tournaments are making headlines, the UEFA Women’s Euro took the spotlight as it recorded the most attendance in the competition’s history when a crowd of 68,781 attended the opening encounter as hosts England defeated Austria at Old Trafford.
The competition was previously postponed for a year until 2022 due to the Corona virus outbreak that impacted the sporting calendar.
The game might have ended with an England victory, but the true winner of the day was WOMEN’S FOOTBALL!
