Update: Makalima Invited to Join CAF Elite Women Refs Course in Djibouti

South African referee, Akhona Makalima is continuing to make strides in her career on the field of play as she has been invited to join the CAF Elite Women Referees Course that is set to take place in Djibouti from the 25th to the 29th of October 2019.

Makalima has been leading the way for female referees locally and has made numerous appearances officiating high-profile soccer matches in the well-known Premier Soccer League and is on the SAFA National Panel and a FIFA accredited referee.

She will form part of a group of 33 match officials that consist of 18 referees and 15 assistant referees that will take part of the course that will see them undergo physical, theoretical and technical tests.

Any of the match officials who fail to perform the required tests will immediately be sent back home.
