Vasco da Gama got off to a great start at the Sasol League National Championships defeating Royal Wizards 8-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Wednesday, 9 February 2022.

The Western Cape side are now second in Group A, while City Lads lead the standings on goal difference after beating Wizards 12-3 on Day 1.

Croesus Ladies went top of Group B when they beat Tswelelang De’Scopions 2-0 in their opening match.

In the last match of the day, Lindelani Ladies entertained the masses as they beat Copperbelt Ladies 4-1 to go top of Group C. Zethembiso Vilakazi went on to be crowned Diski Queen after scoring a brace and assisted in the other two goals.

Day 3 of the championships will see the semi-finalists decided for action this coming weekend.

Vasco da Gama take on City Lads Ladies at 09:30am to decide the winner of group A, while Lindelani Ladies take on Ixias FC at 12:30 in Group C.

TS Galaxy will be looking to come back from their 1-all draw against De’Scorpion when they tackle on Croesus Ladies at 15h30 in Group B.
