This competition is an essential part of the CSA Women’s programme, bringing together the country’s best players in a showcase of T20 cricket, that players do not get enough opportunity to play.

In their match against West Coast, East Coast were 108/5 at the end of their innings, with Marizanne Kapp unbeaten on 41. Sunette Loubser was the West Coast’s leading wicket-taker with 2/16.

Alexis le Breton lead the West Coast reply, also top-scoring with 41 runs, to help her side chase down the target with two balls to spare.

In the match between Central and the Highveld, the latter won by six runs. Chené Bester scored 40 to lead Highveld to 121/6 in their 20 overs, after Dinesha Devnarain took three wickets for 21.

Trisha Chetty was the only notable run-scorer with an unbeaten 55, but Central’s reply was not good enough and it was not enough to take her side all the way.

This tournament marks the end of the women’s 2012/2013 season, but players and coaches will use the time off to prepare for what is to come in the new one.
