Women Run in Joburg & Cape Town

The 2007 Totalsports Ladies Race presented by Asics will take place both in Cape Town (Bellville Velodrome) and Johannesburg (Emmarentia Botanical Gardens) on National Women's Day, Thursday, 9 August 2007. All entrants in the 2007 race stand a chance to win a magnificent Nissan Micra.
Female runners and walkers are invited to join in the fun on National Women’s Day, by celebrating their womanhood in the 2007 Totalsports Ladies Race, presented by Asics.

This year the ever-popular race will once again take place in Cape Town (Bellville Velodrome), but active women in Gauteng can look forward to hitting the streets of Egoli for the inaugural Johannesburg race (Emmarentia Botanical Gardens).

The first 7 000 Cape Town entrants and 3 000 Johannesburg entrants will receive an official race T-shirt and medals will be awarded to all finishers.

Both the Cape Town and Johannesburg 5km and-10km routes are available to walkers, joggers and runners, and moms with prams are more than welcome.

Husbands, friends and family are also encouraged to join in the fun and show support on the day, and proceeds will go to CANSA, an organisation constantly striving to reduce the impact of cancer by promoting health in all communities within South Africa.

Two Nissan Micras will be up for grabs and all entrants in Cape Town and Johannesburg stand a chance to win one of these zippy cars, as race numbers will be entered into a lucky draw, which will take place at the end of the race in each city.

The athlete whose race number has been drawn has to be present to collect her prize, but she is not present, another race number will be drawn.

For a sneak preview of the amazing lucky draw prize, watch out for the Totalsports Ladies Race Nissan Micras on the streets of Cape Town and Johannesburg.
