Ronnel Donnelly struck a hat-trick as Banyana Banyana beat Madagascar 4-0 in the first leg of their CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers second-round tie at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday, 9 October 2026.
Madagascar, the designated hosts, requested that the match be played behind closed doors, and the 15h00 kick-off went ahead without spectators.
Donnelly opened the scoring in the 25th minute, converting at the far post from a Karabo Dhlamini corner. She doubled the lead from another Dhlamini corner, controlling and turning before driving a low finish into the bottom corner.
The Mamelodi Sundowns forward completed her hat-trick in the 61st minute, finishing a Fikile Magama delivery from the right.
Late pressure from Hildah Magaia forced Madagascar defender Solange Emilienne to turn the ball into her own net to seal a commanding result, while Andile Dlamini and the defence kept a clean sheet.
Banyana Banyana take a four-goal advantage into the second leg at the same venue on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, when the 18h00 kick-off will be open to supporters. The winners over two legs advance to the third round to face Angola or Namibia on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
