ASA Announce Final World Athletics Champs Squad

Athletics South Africa announced the final squad ahead of the World Athletics Championships taking place in Oregon, USA from 15-24 July 2022.

A preliminary squad was announced on the 27th of June, which consisted of 7 women athletes namely: Carina Horn, Prudence Sekgodiso,  Dominique Scott, Zeney van der Walt, Miranda Coetzee, Ischke Senekal and Jo-Ané van Niekerk.

A further six women athletes have been included after the qualifying window closed:

Marione Fourie – 100mH

Wanda Nel – 400mH and 4x400m

Taylon Bieldt – 400mH and 4x400m

Gonste Morake – 4x400m mixed

Precious Molepo – 4x400m mixed

Shirley Nekhubui – 4x400m mixed
