In a blistering display with the bat, Tazmin Britz steered Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers to a 92-run victory over the DP World Lions Women, at the Six Gun Grill Recreation Grounds in Oudtshoorn on Saturday, 11 November.
In the first game of the day in Division one of the CSA Women’s Professional Domestic One-day cup action, DP World Lions won the toss and elected to field first. Tazmin Britz played a stunner of an innings scoring 124 (96) with eleven fours and six sixes, as the Badgers posted a total of 220/10 in 40.5 overs. Sarah Nettleton was sensational with 4/39 as the Lions restricted the home side.
Lions batting line-up struggled against the Badgers impeccable bowling attack on the day. Palesa Mapoo put on valiant effort of 36 (68) with six fours as the Lions were bowled out for 128 in the 31st over.
Khayakazi Mathe took 3/16 with Jane Winster, Annerie Dercksen and Haroline Rhodes claiming two scalps each for the Badgers.
Dolphins Make a Splash in Bloem
In the second match in division one, Recon Tactical Free State hosted the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Women at Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein. Free State won the toss and set the target.
Yolandi Potgieter scored 40 (70) with six fours, with contributions from Gizelle Janse van Rensburg 31 (63) with three fours, as the home side were bowled out for 117 in the 44th over. Ayanda Hlubi and Zintle Mali took three wickets a piece for the Dolphins.
An unbeaten batting effort from Dolphin’s batter Nicole de Klerk 61* (64) with four fours and contributions from Alexander Candler 35 (38) hitting five fours, saw the coastal side comfortably home with 118/2 in the 22nd over and staking claim to 8-wicket victory over the hosts.
Eastern Storm Bruises Limpopo Women
In the final and only match of the day in Division Two, Eastern Storm played host to Limpopo Women at Willowmoore Park, Benoni. Limpopo was put into bat after losing the toss.
Dimakatso Tsotetsi scored 38 (72) with two fours, with a contribution from Khushi Mistry 22 (39) with three fours for the visitors. Leandre Bentley took 4/21 as Eastern Storm bowled out the visitors for 113.
Kayleigh Craig steered Eastern Storm to a 6-wicket victory with an unbeaten 53* (61) hitting five fours, as the home team cruised over the line in the 25th over.
