Fidelity Titans Women, Western Province Women and Eastern Province Women, all recorded wins in the CSA Women’s Domestic Professional One-Day Cup league in ties around the country, on Saturday 4 November.

Titans host the Dolphins

Supersport Park played host the to the Division One clash between home team, Fidelity Titans Women, and the coastal Hollywoodbets Dolphin’s Women team.

Hosts #DaisyLadies won the toss and chose to put the visitors in to bat. Looking back at the game, it could not have been a better choice for the home side. Paulinah Mashishi was destructive with the ball as she ripped through the batting line-up of the Dolphins.

Alexandre Candler put on a gallant fight with her contribution of 50 (101) hitting seven fours around the park. Nicole de Klerk supported her with 24 (40) with five fours and Nobulumko Baneti was unbeaten on 11* (16) with two fours as the visitors were bowled out for 152 in 44.5 overs. Paulinah Mashishi finished with figures of 4/27 for the Daisies.

Titans made the run chase look like a walk in the park, as captain Robyn Searle secured a half century 55 (122) with eight magnificent fours, Katherine Prior made a quick 31 (46) with four fours, which set up the innings nicely for the home side.

Anneke Bosch was unbeaten on 49* (57) with eight fours along with Masabata Klaas 15* (11) with one four and the one maximum that saw the home side cruise over the line for 155/2 in the 40th over, to hand the #DaisyLadies a win by 8 wickets.

The Lions Host Western Province

In the second match in Division one, DP World Lions Women, hosted Western Province Women at UJ Orban Oval. WP won the toss and elected to field on an overcast day on Johannesburg.

Nonkululeko Thabethe scored a massive 73 (127) with seven fours which solidified the innings for the Lions, but it was not to be for the home side. Delmi Tucker and Nosipho Vezi took 4-wickets a piece as they bowled out the Lions for 192.

Lions’ bowlers were determined to apply pressure from the start, but the WP batting line-up was having none of it.

Opening duo of Babette Leede 44 (85) with five fours and Andrie Steyn 68 (86) seven fours, were solid upfront as they steadied the run chased and provided the much-needed runs.

Saarah Smith 31* (50) four fours and Nadine de Klerk 39* (44) six fours remained unbeaten as they reached the target of 193/2 in the 44th over and handed WP an 8-wicket victory.

Buffalo Park Hosts Eastern Cape Linyathi and Eastern Province for EC Div 2 Derby

The Eastern Cape derby was the only match in Division two, this encounter had Buffalo Park hosting home side Eastern Cape Linyathi and Eastern Province. The home team won the toss and chose to field on the day.

Eastern Province captain Jana Nell scored an unbeaten 96* (89) with twelve fours and one maximum, supported by Monique Ferreira who fell five runs short of her half century as she contributed 45 (80) with six fours as the visitors amassed a total of 247/6 in their innings. Llyema Jubati was the pick of the Linyathi bowlers with figures of 3/28.

Linyathi batting order struggled against a destructive and dominant bowling attack from Eastern Province. Eastern Cape Linyathi were bowled out for 86 in the 25th over, handing EP a massive win by 161 runs.
