Celestine Chepchirchir set a new course record while Judith Jurubet made it a Kenyan one and three finish at the 30th edition of the Marathon de La Rochelle in France.
Chepchirchir made the most of the course in France breaking away from the leading group at 38km, running a dominant 2:23.32, to break the De La Rochelle course record of 2:28:24 set by Ethiopian legend Goitetom Haftu in 2010.
Despite finishing second, Ethiopian Aberash Fayes also smashed her personal course record reaching the finish line in 2:25:32. While, Jurubet pushed off the stiff competition of Yevhenya Prokofyeva to finish the race third in 2:26:43.
