Malawian international football stars, Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, guided their club, Wuhan Jiangda, to league victory in the China Taiping CFA Women’s Super League.
Jiangda successfully defended their title after a 2-1 win over Jiangsu.
Gifted forward, Wu Chengshu, opened the scoring for Jiangsu in the 11th minute. Jiangda only managed to score the equaliser in the 50th minute through a Wang Shuang strike.
Eleven minutes later, Wang Shuang, netted her second goal to ensure Jiangda retain their league title.
For the third consecutive season, African players have dominated the Golden Boot as Tabitha won her second award in the Chinese Super League. The forward tallied nine goals in the competition. Her first Golden Boot was in 2018 when she scored 17 goals for Jiangsu Suning.
Her younger sister, Temwa, only managed to score seven goals as she won her second league title in China.
Meanwhile, Barbara Banda’s Shanghai Shengli won the 3rd/4th place-playoffs after they defeated Nigerian Chinwedu Ihezuo’s, Guangdong Meizhou Hakka, 2-1.
