Zimbabwe made a triumphant return to international football on day three of the 2023 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday, 6 October, 2023.
The Mighty Warriors secured a 1-0 victory over Lesotho in their Group C opener. Privilege Mupeti, coming off the bench, scored the sole goal just before the hour mark in a game where Zimbabwe displayed dominance.

As a result of this victory, the Warriors currently lead the group standings with three points, ahead of Botswana and Namibia.
The latter two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the day’s second match. The Gladiators wasted no time finding the net, with Millicent Hikuam scoring within six minutes.
Despite Lesego Radiakanyo’s solo run and Balothanyi Johannes’s close-range shot, Queandra Batista, Zimbabwe’s goalkeeper, proved to be up to the challenge with a superb save.
