Boxer Athletics Club’s Diana Lebo Phalula ran to victory claiming gold at the Central Gauteng Athletics Championships at Kagiso Sports Complex on Saturday, 9 January 2021.
The annual Cross Country Championships were given the greenlight by authorities to take place under strict Covid-19 regulations and protocols, adhering to the national Level 3 Lockdown rules.
On race day, Phalula crossed the finish line in a time of 37:28 ahead of Cacisile Sosibo (37:37) and her twin sister, Lebogang, in third (38:15), in the 10km race.
So grateful to be given an opportunity to line up on a start line again at CGA cross country champs! 🤩 but forgot how tough and hot cross country can get 🥵🔥
