Kenyan athlete, Edinah Jebitok, cruised to victory at the 78th edition Cross Internacional Juan Muguerza, a World Athletics Cross Country Tour in Elgoibar, Spain.
World junior 5000m bronze medallist, Prisca Chesang took the lead in the early stages, closely followed by World U20 champion, Beatrice Chebet, Jebitok and Senbere Teferi.
In the final kilometre, Jebitok dismantled a strong field of elite athletes, eventually tussling it out with her compatriot and race favourite, Chebet, in the final 500m.
The 20-year-old went on to cross the finish line in 26:02 minutes, 15 seconds ahead of Chebet.

Uganda’s Chesang had to fight hard for a podium finish, as she outpaced Ethiopia’s Teferi in the final 100m to complete a top 3 African podium.
