2020 Momentum gsport Awards Special Recognition Award winner, Elizabeth Smith, is the first South African representative to serve on the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Council.
The announcement was shared by SA Gymnastics as Smith was joined by CEO, Anne Vermaak, in Antalya.
Vermaak, who is the reigning Woman of the Year winner on the Momentum gsport Awards stage, also received recognition as she has been chosen as a scrutineer for this year’s elections, that are due to take place.

Regarded as the mother of gymnastics in Mzansi, Smith continues to pave the way for the growing sport in the country and will be aiming to push the boundaries on the international scene through FIG.
