Champion South African marathon runner, Gerda Steyn, records a PB at the London Marathon to climb to second place on the all-time SA Marathon Rankings on Sunday, 4 October 2020.
Steyn crossed the line in seventh place (2:26:51), 16 seconds off the current South African record – only Colleen de Reuck has run faster on a standard course.

The 30-year-old’s incredible feat comes after a challenging year where numerous running events were cancelled due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.
With the easing of lockdown restrictions in the country over the past few months, Steyn has been working hard to remain on top of her game as she kept the public in the loop on her social media pages.
